I recently read an article on Laptop Magazine's website that made me laugh a little (lenovo thinkpad tablet wins 2011 tablet world series). Apple's iconic iPad 2 lost to a lesser tablet, the ASUS Eee Pad Slider, in a user poll. The fact that the iPad lost out to the Eee Pad isn't what's funny, the comments from the peanut gallery are what really got me.
Have we become so brain washed by Apple that if someone else thinks that their products aren't God's gift to men that we're going to riot. After looking through the comments, I'd have to say yes. What is it that makes the iPad worth fighting for anyway? Sure is sleek, sexy, and hip but what does it have over the competition? Right now, it's library of applications is the only benefit that I can see over the competition.
People will argue that it's the best there is and everyone else is copying Apple. Well, guess what guys, Apple copies people too. Don't believe me? Check out this video and then tell me differently. (Steve Jobs: Good artists copy great artists steal) Apple makes great products that are hugely popular, there is no denying it, but it doesn't mean that they are the best.
We all just need to realize that a little competition is good for everyone. When you're 'American Idol' favorite doesn't get picked, blame the people who didn't vote, not the broadcast company.
